Its difficult to argue with a delightful country inn topped by a thatched roof and leaning chimney. You get a very warm welcome from landlords Mark and Lesley Blanchard in this rural gem, which dates back to the 15th century. The emphasis is on very local produce, with the beef and free-range rare-breed pork coming from the island, as well as the cheese, bread, fish and beer. You can eat outside in the garden, with panoramic south-west coast views across the fields, while in the winter an open fire will keep you warm.
