We've always loved the glamping accommodation at Tom's Eco Lodge on the Isle of Wight, but these Domes just a short walk away take glamping to a new level, with luxury accommodation in gorgeous countryside, all the mod cons you could wish for and amazing panoramic views from both inside and out. Each dome sleeps up to 6 people, with an open-plan living and sleeping area, a king-sized four-poster bed and a cosy lounge area with a wood-burning stove, a small kitchenette (equipped with fridge, hob and microwave, kettle and toaster), plus a separate bunk room divided off behind a screen. The domes are 4 metres high so there's plenty of light and space; they are well insulated, making them cosy even on the coldest nights, and each bed has an electric blanket to snuggle down under the covers while gazing up at the stars through the neatly positioned skylight. This part of the island is very much Dark Skies country, with spectacular constellations throughout the year.
Bed linen and towels are provided, and each Dome has its own private male and female showers and toilet facilities, situated in a brand-new washblock a short stroll away, complete with toilets, hot showers and underfloor heating. There's a separate washing-up area, and dogs are welcome, so you can bring the whole family along. Not only that, despite feeling like you've washed up in the middle of nowhere, you have access to all the facilities of nearby Tapnell Farm, which include a bar and restaurant, a games and play area and lots of other activities. Plenty of footpaths pass nearby, and you're only a short distance from some of the island's best beaches at Freshwater Bay and around. It's a perfect place for a romantic Isle of Wight holiday – or a family stay with small children.
