In a good-looking, Georgian redbrick building, this large gastro pub is decorated in attractive modern style and has a spacious garden. It specializes in food, with the emphasis on local, seasonal ingredients – think Cromer crab and chive fishcakes followed by fish and chips, sea bass fillet or slow-roasted Swannington pork belly – and as well as hot dishes they do sandwiches and a decent Sunday lunch. They also serve a good range of ales. Located a couple of miles southwest of the centre beside the main road to Newmarket.
