Edin's Deli Café
15 Broad Street Nottingham NG1 3AJ
Make no mistake, Nottingham’s nightlife is wild and wonderful, but this downtown café-restaurant escapes the whizzes and the bangs, providing a laid-back, somehow rather continental atmosphere with a a jazzy, bluesy soundtrack. The decor is distinctly boho and the short menu is inexpensive, unpretentious and variable, featuring the likes of char-grilled asparagus with parmesan and a poached egg for as little as £6.25. Come early(ish) for one of the daily specials, chalked up on the blackboard. The owner, Edin, who hales from the old Yugoslavia, is the perfect host and the best chef in Nottingham, although he does not venture into the open kitchen every night.
