Situated in the heart of Nottingham's atmospheric Lace Market district, the Lace Market Hotel is a justifiably popular option in a city that's not blessed with a great many independent small hotels. A handsome Georgian mansion with just 42 boutique guest rooms and a terrific position in the city centre's most attractive neighbourhood, it's one of Nottingham's best places to stay.
Despite the abundance of nearby nightlife, it's a peaceful place to stay too, with many of the rooms overlooking the peaceful churchyard next door. All of the rooms are different, but most of them are brightly furnished in a contemporary style, with decent-sized bathrooms and amenities that include good wifi, tea- and coffee-making facilities, complimentary mineral water, flatscreen TVs with Freeview and firm, comfy beds.
The hotel's own pub – the Cock & Hoop next door – serves a good breakfast every morning, as well as lunch, dinner and afternoon tea, and is a thoroughly convivial place to hang out, and you could throw a stone near by and hit half a dozen alternative places to eat or drink. Plus you're within walking distances of the shop, sights and attractions of Nottingham's buzzy and very wanderable old centre.
