This unusual little place is a real delight - but don’t be deterred by the careworn, sixties shopping mini-mall where it is located. The Francophile décor, with its glossy tiling and incidental bygones, is very appealing and service is fast and attentive. They specialize in galettes, but more especially crêpes, beginning with the classic (and basic) lemon and sugar or butter and sugar version and culminating in crêpe suzettes with orange, sugar and flaming Grand Marnier. Aubrey’s also does its own marmalades and salted caramel sauce (yum, yum). You can wash it all down with authentic Breton cider, French wine, gourmet coffee or one of several distinctive soft drinks.
