In a world of boutiquey this and spruced-up that, it's refreshing that there's nothing remotely fancy about this place, which has been an institution for many years in Orford, and serves great fish and seafood, much of it caught and smoked locally by the family themselves. It's not expensive and not at all posh and no trip to Orford is complete without eating here, or visiting their shop, Pinney’s, on Quay St near the harbour. Great oysters, fantastic fish pie and the freshest smoked and unsmoked fish you could wish for, very simply served in an admittedly somewhat congested dining room with paper tableclothes. Great service too.
