This long-running Aldeburgh hotel is the sister hotel of the slightly more upmarket Brudenell at the other end of town, and its location – overlooking the beach and the town’s famous fish huts – is the is in many ways the perfect place from which to enjoy the best of this refined resort. It has some 38 comfortable rooms, many of which have sea views, as well as two decent restaurants to choose from.

The hotel has the feel of a comfortable and relaxed seaside coaching inn, with a bustling lounge area that flows through to the restaurant and bar. There is a car park at the back, plus plenty of free public parking in front of the hotel, The 38 guest rooms are all good sizes and although they range in price from Inland Doubles to Sea View Doubles, all have Freeview TVs, complimentary water, biscuits, tea and coffee-making facilities and good wifi. The bathrooms vary quite a lot in size but most have combined bath/showers and only a few 'Superior Sea View' rooms come baths and walk-in showers, along with Smart TVs, fridge and comfy chairs by the window.

The main restaurant is a really nice place to eat and has a short, crowd-pleasing menu with pork belly, fish and chips and other dishes but sadly doesn't make the most of he fresh fish on sale right outside (though you can get kippers and smoked haddock at breakfast)). The other restaurant, Sea Spice, serves really good, authentic Indian food that includes freshly made bhajis and flatbreads, and really good fish and seafood dishes.
