We love the Pump Street Bakery, a small, family-owned and -run rustic local bakery that is at the heart of the Suffolk's food revival. It's a pity they're not open every day (as maybe a bakery should be), but when you bake bread and pastries this good maybe you're entitled to put your feet up occasionally. Anyway it's much more than a bread shop, serving lunches and weekend brunch dishes at a communal table in their rustic dining room, or in a small courtyard outside. Brunch includes a choice of buttermilk pancakes, French toast and fruit, while lunches can take in anything from soup to salads and sandwiches or hearty stews.
