Celtic Connections
2 Sauchiehall Street Glasgow G2 3NY
Scotland has rediscovered its Celtic roots in recent years, and in Glasgow nowhere is this more emphatically on show than at the annual Celtic Connections festival, attended by over 2000 musicians from all over the Celtic world. The musical mayhem begins with a rousing opening in January and lasts for three weeks, well into February. The epicentre is the Glasgow Royal Concert Hall, but with over 200 gigs and events spread across a number of venues it's one of the world’s most seriously infectious music festivals. Ignore it if you dare.
