The Clyde
The Clyde Glasgow
Once upon a time the river Clyde defined Glasgow, and the term Clydebuilt was synonymous with the city the world over, home to myriad shipyards that turned out the majority of the maritime vessels. Today you could spend a weekend in the city and not really notice the once essential waterway, which would be a pity, as in common with waterways in the rest of the UK she has been tarted up in recent years and now boasts waterside walkways, public sculpture, benches and a plethora of new bars, cafés and restaurants. There are summer-only boat tours and you may even see a sea plane land here too.
