The Scotland-based record chain has built up a brilliant reputation in Scotland over two decades for pedalling rare records and pioneering new talent, not to mention offering customers great value on CDs and DVDs. It overstretched itself when expanding and ran into serious financial problems but was saved by industry giant HMV, who mercifully kept most of the staff on and let it pretty much continue doing what it has always done. With HMV itself now in trouble who knows what the future holds, but for now this remains an excellent place to pick up rare albums and cut-price CDs and DVDs.
