Is it a pub? A restaurant with rooms? Whatever it is, The Bridge displays all of the characteristics that we love in the best British pubs and restaurants. In fact it's the very essence of a modern inn, with stylish interiors in public areas and rooms which both do a good job of blending contemporary and vintage styles. In short it's a good place to both stay and to eat between Macclesfield and Manchester – not to mention a good venue for a wedding or a party.
Part of the Cheshire-based Flat Cap group, The Bridge has a welcoming bar that serves food all day but is just as appropriate for a crafty pint as a full meal. It occupies an alluring riverside location in a picturesque rural village – in this case Prestbury in Cheshire – and features 24 comfortable yet affordable rooms to flop into at the end of the night. All of these have big comfy beds, Smart TVs, en-suite bathrooms with rainforest showers and fast wifi; some are accessible to wheelchair users, some dog friendly, while one room has a 4-poster bed. The restaurant serves an all-day menu, deliberately casual, with burgers, skewers and pasta, local steaks and lots of cool snacks and sides - salt & pepper squid, scotch eggs, loaded sandwiches and lots of vegan and veggie fare, which you can enjoy in the bar or outside in their riverside gardens, where you'll also find 'The Shed' bar – a perfect place for a summer Pimms or a cocktail or two.
Finally the location, which is super-convenient but super-rural too, a couple of miles north of the the pleasant market town of Macclesfield, which according to some sources is officially 'the happiest place in the Northwest' so must be worth a visit! You're also very conveniently places for the hills and valleys of the Peak District National Park, as well as Manchester itself, which is just half an hour away to the north.
