Book your stay securely on a third-party website
Independently owned for around 400 years, this historic Jacobean manor house just outside Halifax in West Yorkshire is a thoroughly dog-friendly place to stay, with dogs allowed in many of its 36 bedrooms and everywhere else except the restaurant. Rooms are traditional in style and have tea- and coffee-making facilities, flatscreen TVs with Freeview, wifi and en-suite bathrooms with White Company toiletries. Dogs receive a treat on arrival and a blanket, bowl, poo bags and a ‘Dog in Room’ sign for the door; a member of the team may even be keen to take a photo of your pooch for the hotel’s Facebook page. There’s 24-hour room service and you can eat the with your dog in the bar or leave them in your room while you dine in the award-winning restaurant itself, which serves delicious seasonal, locally sourced food. Finally, the hotel’s beautifully maintained gardens offer lovely on-lead walks, and you are close to some of Yorkshire’s most dramatic countryside in Bronte Country to the north, where you can visit the Bronte Parsonage, or walk part of the long-distance Calderdale Way.
