Tiger Garden
47–49 High Street Eton SL4 6BL
A Bangladeshi-run Indian which rejoices in one of Eton’s oldest buildings – a wonderfully wonky, timber-framed 15th century house which seems to sag and warp around the diners. Tandoori, seafood and the usual range of tikka, bhuna and jalfrezi dishes make it a popular haunt for schooolboys and locals. In contrast to the afternoon tea and cakes widely on offer in Windsor, here you can sample Indian high tea, featuring gulab jamun and barli fudge.
Cobra and Kingfisher on tap. An original pair of stocks sit on the pavement outside.
