South West Coast Path
Various Locations South Hams
The South West Coast Path follows 730 miles of the country’s finest coastline, and the South Hams section surely must encompass some of the most stunning coastal scenery in the world. Soaring cliffs make a dramatic backdrop to the often turquoise-blue waters and sandy coves that dot the coastline, and the climbs are amply rewarded with views of picture-perfect smuggler’s coves, dramatic tree-lined estuaries and harbours lively with yachts and boats. Start from any point on the coast and you won’t be disappointed, but check the website for walks of particular interest. Recommended walks include Salcombe to Bolt Head, Beesands and Hallsands (lunch at the Cricket Inn), and Hope Cove to Bolberry Down.
