Situated in a beautiful part of South Devon, just a few miles south of the maritime and resort town of Dartmouth, Torcross is an unusual village, set delicately on a thin strip of land between the sea and lagoon of Slapton Ley. It's famous for being the place where Allied troops practised for the D-Day Landings but is a much quieter places these day, known partly for its easy access to the beach at Slapton Sands, and also for its proximity to some of South Devon's best attractions. It's also home to a unique self-catering place to stay in Golden Meadow – an extraordinary contemporary home fashioned out of stone, steel and glass and providing a perfect place from which way to enjoy this beautiful coastline.
Golden Meadow is a large property, designed for big groups or family gatherings, and built to absorb lots of people in multiple living spaces, seven bedrooms and two outside terraces. It has a grand entrance hall, from which a mid-century spiral staircase leads to the property’s other floors – above and below. Everywhere there is taste and flair in what are by any standards luxurious furnishings, lighting and decor. There's a large kitchen and dining area with lots of amenities, including an island and breakfast bar and a dining space for ten with tremendous sea views. There are also two separate living rooms downstairs, one with a TV and wood-burner, and an elevated terrace with a stone top table and glass balustrade. There's also a living space incorporated into the master bedroom, which has its own terrace, plus a cinema room with large Sony TV and L-shaped sofa. Most of the other bedrooms have views and doors opening onto the garden or a terrace, and three have en-suite shower rooms.

There' a real Mediterranean feel to this holiday home, with low walls, flowing terraces and 360-degree views of the sea and the countryside that make it hard not to relax completely. Believe us when we say you want want to leave this stunning property. But if you do, there is plenty to see nearby, from the handsome nearby town of Dartmouth or the wonderful beach at Blackpool Sands, to Salcombe in the opposite direction and any number of pretty villages and National Trust properties in the surrounding South Hams area. It's a rather special place, and a wonderful holiday home to come back to after touring this beautiful region.
