This shabby-chic, sea-blue and cream wood-panelled house is an easy place to while away the time over a latte, an ice-cream, a glass of wine or even a bowl of chips. It’s set just above the lovely, family-friendly beach of South Milton Sands, and has wooden picnic tables outside sporting gorgeous views right out to the horizon. They do a simple cooked breakfast, doughnuts, chelsea buns, pasties and sandwiches to take away, and easy lunches such as moules-frites, herby crab cakes or a frittata. During the high season on Friday and Saturday evenings you can also have fish and chip suppers but you'll need to book ahead. The mayonnaise is Heinz and the tea is Twinings, but the drinks menu does include Luscombe organic juices, bottles of prosecco and a small selections of wines. You can also bring your own booze – it’s £4.50 for corkage – and the beach house is also available to hire for a party.
