Ilfracombe Museum
Runnymede Gardens Wilder Road Ilfracombe EX34 8AF
In the park opposite the Landmark Theatre, the Ilfracombe town museum is a curio as much as an option for rainy days. Its rooms are chock-full of objects from Ilfracombe’s heritage as port and Victorian resort, creating something between an Edwardian collector’s study and a granny’s attic. It's not exactly the world's biggest museum but it doesn't pretend to be. The mix is certainly eclectic and it gives a little insight into the local area which is worth half an hour on any tour of the seafront, even if the sun isn shining. An atmospheric little place that offers something different.
