This former Edwardian gentleman’s retreat on a bluff beneath Mortehoe affords a marvellously relaxed stay. The resort was recently refurbished so if you add to the mix, access via private steps to a lovely cove, you might well get one of the most romantic places in the area. From the squishy button-back sofas to tea served in a lounge overlooking the rocks of Coombesgate Beach, all is comfort and leisurely pace. All 30 guest rooms have the same spectacular coastal view – eight have a terrace or balcony – all in neutral white and grey walls with wooden floors.
