The New Forest tour
Lyndhurst Hampshire SO43 7NY
The New Forest likes to boast its green credentials and the fact that the best way to get around the National Park without polluting the planet is by bus or bike. You can neatly combine the two by taking the New Forest Tour which runs from late June to mid September. It's actually three circular bus routes that cover pretty much every corner of the New Forest, and the buses can accommodate up to four bikes on board for free. A ticket allows you to travel anywhere on the three open top hop-on, hop-off services and the price also includes a free guide and discounts for certain attractions around the forest. Each route links with the main train stations in the forest. The Red route runs from Ashurst and continues to Lyndhurst, Burley, Ringwood, Fordingbridge and back to Ashurst via Sandy Balls, Brook and Cadnam. The Green route runs from Brockenhurst and continues to Lymington, Beaulieu and Lyndhurst. And the Blue route runs from Brockenhurst and continues to Lymington, Keyhaven, Barton-on-Sea and Burley. Why would you need a car?
