A resurgent hotel in a great location, Forest Park is thriving under its new ownership, with local businessman Sean Perry keen to restore the hotel to its former glories as a family-friendly hotel that is the perfect base for the delights of the New Forest.

Formerly a vicarage, the mock Tudor building has been a hotel for over a century, apart from a short period as a hospital during WWI. It has 38 guest rooms, each one different, and featuring en-suite bathroom, free wifi and Freeview TV; some look out on the forest and others onto the hotel's gardens, and most have now been updated. Dogs are welcome in some of the rooms, and really the hotel couldn't be better placed for getting out into the forest with your four-legged friend – plus there are always great deals for families.

The downstairs bar is a bit of a hub again, and serves local Ringwood ales, and they have big plans for the restaurant, which will soon be serving a new menu based on local produce and cream teas on the lawns outside. All in all a worthy addition to Brockenhurst's range of accommodation – and a good base for the New Forest.

Lovely hotel - food fantastic

We ate here twice as we had family members who were on a short break and visited them at hotel. Both times we ate in lounge bar (as dog friendly) and loved the relaxed and quiet atmosphere. The decor is completely in character with a country inn style and little touches like the basket of towels for dogs and wellie boots all lined up add to the ambience.The staff can't do enough to make you feel welcome and make sure that you are well looked after. We had a lovely table which was quite secluded with plenty of room for our border collie. The menu is cooked fresh from local and well sourced produce and all of our dishes were delicious and cooked to a high standard. The Chef came out to see us to check that all was ok with our food and we felt that an extra personal touch was added to our evening. This is a lovely hotel, with friendly staff who go the extra mile to ensure that you have a good time. Highly recommended.
