With a campsite next door and some terrific walks on its doorstep, it’s not surprising that the Red Shoot is something of a social hub for the less visited northern stretches of the New Forest. The pub has its own microbrewery from which you can sample the likes of Tom’s Tipple and Forest Gold, and there’s good value pub food and live music every Sunday night. The pub also hosts a biannual beer festival (usually in April).
