Furzey Gardens was established in 1922, with some superb flowers, trees and mature shrubs – the azaleas and rhododendrons are particularly vivid in spring. But as well as the plants, this is also a magical space, dotted with tree houses, African-style huts and tunnels that are great fun for kids. You can also look around a 16th century cottage and visit an art gallery; plus there’s a shop and a pleasant café.
