Minstead
Minstead, Hampshire
The attractive New Forest village of Minstead has a great pub, café and local walks, though its principal attraction is in the cemetery of its unusual 13th century church. Here you’ll find the grave of Sir Arthur Conan Doyle of Sherlock Holmes fame. Because Doyle was a spiritualist, the church only agreed for him to be buried on the outer edges of the cemetery – you’ll find it under a tree near the back fence.
