A much-favoured location for viewing the Round the Island Race, the Boathouse is also renowned locally for its fab fish and chips. The menu here is unpretentious and mostly traditional, but it’s all about the quality and the casual professionalism of the service, both of which are hard to fault. As the name suggests this place is a real ode to the seaside, light and airy and seemingly built into the beach. It’s a popular place though and you’ll need to book at busy times, especially if you want a table outside in the glorious, sheltered garden or on the deck over the beach.
