Yorkshire Fisheries
16 Topping Street Blackpool FY1 3AQ
You can't come to Blackpool and not have fish and chips – trouble is, everyone has a strong opinion on which serves the best and it's easy to get it wrong in a town with so many choices. We say, forget about the honeytraps on the prom and get yourself to Yorkshire Fisheries in the town centre for a takeaway or a sit-down. The fish is cod or haddock, regular or king-size, and one disturbingly-cheap-for-the-portion-size price gets you mushy peas, bread and butter, and tea or coffee as well. If you hanker after a bit more sophistication there's usually plaice, tuna, halibut or swordfish on the menu too. We'll gloss over the fact that it's a "Yorkshire" chippie – even Lancs folk sometimes just have to bite the bullet and admit that they know a thing or two about frying over the border.
