Pump & Truncheon
13 Bonny Street Blackpool FY1 5AR
It's a tall order finding a pub in town where you won't be forced to sing karaoke, join in a drinking game or remove items of clothing. We tentatively suggest this independently owned, real-ale haunt at the back of the Golden Mile (behind Madame Tussaud's) that was an old rozzers' drinking den, hence the name. There are usually half-a-dozen changing brews available, plus Belgian beers and malt whiskies, and if it's not exactly a quiet old traditional pub, it's not a pumping party venue either. A decent pool table and budget bar meals might persuade you to stick around for longer than one drink.
