The Duke's Head
Slugs Lane Somerleyton Suffolk NR32 5QR
Part of the well-realized contemporary project that is the Somerleyton estate, the Duke's Head does a good job of remaining a decent local while attracting folk from far and wide to sample its excellent gastropub fare, which often uses ingredients form the estate itself – and is always good. You can eat in the bar or semi-separate dining area, or, when the sun is shining out in the large beer garden, where there is a small children's playground. There's a good choice of real ales and it's dog-friendly too. One thing it isn't, however, is easy to find – if you have satnav, switch it on.
