Aldeburgh isn't a pubby sort of place, which is a shame as it has more places to eat than you can shake a stick at. But this long-established local bar nails it as the best place in town for a pint. It is, as they say themselves, 'a local legend', not just for the fact that its pristine art deco interior has housed a host of other businesses over the years, including a chemist and a bookshop, but also for the brilliant Thai street food café that operates from its courtyard every summer, which does fabulous things with the local fish and seafood. They also host live music and the occasional quiz night, but whatever is going on, there's always a friendly welcome. No idea who DP is, though....
