The Good Intent
60-62 The Street Puttenham Surrey GU3 1AR
This is a beautiful, traditional, warm and welcoming heart-of-the-village style pub found in portrait-pretty Puttenham, a Surrey hamlet in the hills, with an epic inglenook fire place, great food and revolving menu of real ales. Located on the route of the North Downs Way amid fantastic hiking and cycling country, the Good Intent is very popular with walkers – including those with dogs – and bike riders. Important: this is a pub that serves food, not a gastro-pub/restaurant that serves beer. Meals are solid traditional pub grub fare (bangers and mash, liver and bacon, chilli con carne, etc), and come with an appropriately down-to-earth price tag. Brews are taken seriously here, though, and beer enthusiasts flock in for the annual ale festival.
