Of the many food pubs in Fowey, the Lugger is possibly the best and serves some of the tastiest food. Mussels, scallops and fish are fresh, deftly cooked and portions are generous. Inside, the pub is satisfyingly sparse, with a few tables outside. Its rustic, traditional and you don't have to be a genius to work out that this place has ben doing what it does for years. Check out the specials board for local grub and seasonal delights and enjoy the quirky fifties soundtrack. Along with the food there's a good selection of real ales and sweet tasting cornish ciders. Dogs welcome, and there’s a kids’ menu, but service is not the quickest, especially if it’s full.
