The Hall Walk
Polruan
Said to be one of the ‘top 100 walks in the country’, this four-mile walk, originating in Tudor times, takes in some breathtaking views of the estuary, through woodland and around Pont Creek to Bodinnick. Start at the centre of Polruan and walk up East Street, turning right at the signpost ‘To the Hills’. Keep following the path, up through the woods, and you’ll come to Pont Pill. Where Pont Pill joins the estuary you’ll find the ‘Q’ memorial, a monument to Cornish author Arthur Quiller-Couch. Keep following the footpath, taking every opportunity to stop and admire the views, and eventually you’ll arrive at Bodinnick where you can stop for refreshment at the Old Ferry Inn. A short hop across the river on the car ferry will land you back in Fowey.
