Lanhydrock
Bodmin PL30 5AD
Set among hundreds of acres of picturesque parkland, Lanhydrock is an imposing example of a Victorian country estate. Rebuilt in the 1880s following a devastating fire, the house offers a fascinating glimpse into Victorian life. The most impressive of the 50 rooms is the remarkable north wing gallery, which survives from the earlier house. There is also a large collection of books, including one of only four volumes of the Lanhydrock Atlas, dating from the end of the 17th century. There are children’s activities, garden tours and open-air theatre in summer. Dogs welcome in the grounds.
