The Mill at Gordleton

Set in and around a 400-year-old water mill with beautiful gardens, this place is renowned for its self-sufficiency, producing its own bread and ice cream and serving great food made with locally sourced and largely organic ingredients. Dishes include local smoked trout, fillet of pork with cabbage and cider brandy jus, local asparagus frittata and herb crusted cod with scallops and garlic mash. Desserts include homemade sorbets and stem ginger cheesecake. Note that reservations are not accepted so turn up early to guarantee a table.
