A Coven of Witches
The Cross Burley Hampshire BH24 4AA
It’s strange but true that the otherwise completely normal village of Burley has a handful of shops specialising in witchcraft. A Coven of Witches is the original store, created by a local ‘white witch’ called Sybil Leek in the 1950s who opened it shortly after England’s prohibition of witchcraft was lifted. Leek claimed to be the high priestess of white witches – who believe that nature guides them in their quest to spread goodwill – and the shop does its best to fulfill this mission by stocking various model witches, wands and trinkets, together with dove’s blood and magic potions to cast spells.
