Attractive country-house hotel set in beautiful gardens on the clifftop, palm trees and manicured lawns. Each room is different, all are of decent size, especially if you can bag one at the front with a balcony overlooking the sea. JRR Tolkien was a regular here, staying in the same room every year for 30 years. He might have wanted to escape and drift away from a world of chaos and strong-willed characters to a calming, elegant and restful environment that is still a trademark of The Miramar today.
