There are around 150 miles of car-free tracks in the New Forest, many of the best of them around the town of Brockenhurst. Cycle Experience detail 10 routes, though some of them involve a short bus or car journey to the start point. Routes include a six-mile amble round the northern stretches of the forest, a 21-mile trek along a disused railway near Burley and a leg-busting 25-mile loop via the deer feeding centre at Bolderwood. Whichever you choose, they get you out into the quieter bits of the forest where you are guaranteed to see New Forest ponies and there’s a good chance of seeing deer and other wildlife.
