The Anchor Inn
1-3 High Street Cowes PO31 7SA
A favourite with local real ale enthusiasts (at least five brews are always on tap, including Tanglefoot and Flower’s Original) this friendly, ever-busy former coaching inn has live music on Wednesday, Friday and Saturday nights. Victuals have been sold on the site since 1704 and they now do decent pub grub and bar snacks. Keep an eye on the blackboard for the ever changing specials. Opposite Cowes Yacht Haven and just a short stroll from the RedJet ferry terminal, it's a popular place for boaters to relax after a day on the waves. The Anchor Inn also offers reasonably priced accommodation. Six twin en-suite rooms and a Family Room sleeping four are upstairs ideal for a pit stop.
