The New Inn has one of the best reputations on the island for food – well-sourced seafood, very good, locally procured meat and seasonal game – and the landlord’s famous smile suggests he knows it. Its a traditional place that does a great job with keeping up with the times, nicely refurbished inside with a cosy pub atmosphere, while still reflecting the light seaside surroundings. Ample space out back makes it a good place to come on a sunny day. It's well stocked with real ales, from traditional scrumpy to cornish bitter, and has an extensive wine list. The New Inn is also perfectly located for visits to Yarmouth or walks around the wildlife reserve at Newtown and the old boatyard at Shalfleet Quay.
