The smell alone will lure you into this bakery on Cowes' main street, but once inside you'll want to get more than just a crusty loaf. Doubling as a café-restaurant, you can take your pick from croissants, salads, soups, fresh breads, quiches and other dishes, all homemade and tasty - if rather pricey. The decor also encourages you to linger, a bright, airy space with long wooden benches which you can wedge yourself into and get to know your neighbours. It's only when you leave that you'll remember you first came in simply to grab a farmhouse loaf for breakfast. Make sure you don't forget it on the way out!
