The Waterside
Rollesby NR29 5EF
Just off the main A149, the Waterside complex is one of the few chances to get out on the protected Trinity Broads, made up of Rollesby, Filby and Ormesby Broads, either by way of boat trips on Gentleman Jim, or the rowing boats they rent here. There’s also really good café-restaurant here that serves both excellent lunches and evening meals and has a lovely decked outside terrace overlooking the Broad – a nice place to wind up of an evening. Lunch options include sandwiches – an excellent club sandwich – baked potatoes and light hot meals like ham, egg and chips, while in the evening they serve a more formal (and more expensive) seasonal menu, with 4 or 5 fish or meat main courses and a couple of veggie alternatives: things like beef cheeks with horseradish mash, roast guinea fowl and pan-seared scallopes with fennel and wild mushroom risotto.
