Abbey House Museum
Abbey Walk, Kirkstall, Leeds LS5 3EH
Victorian Leeds comes to life at the Abbey House Museum, where recreated streets, shops and houses show how the locals once lived – right down to a trip to the pub or attending a class in the neighbourhood Sunday School. It’s a family-orientated attraction, with regular special events featuring staff in Victorian costume plus games and activities, and you can combine a visit with a look at the nearby ruins of Kirkstall Abbey. Take the train to Headingley – the museum is only a quarter of a mile or so from the station.
