The Chambers

Just a short walk from Leeds busy train station, and within reach of just about everything in the city centre you might want to see and do, The Chambers is the city's best  apartment hotel by some way, with around 60 cool apartments in a beautifully restored Victorian building – great if you want to self-cater at the same time as exploring the city.

You can pretend to be a local for as long as you want in one of these very stylish dwellings, which include both studios and one- and two-bedroom options, all of them individually designed with kitchen/dining area and living areas that are very well equipped, with cooking facilities, fridge-freezers, dishwashers, microwaves and washing machines, good wifi and flatscreen TVs with access to satellite channels. Bedrooms have king-size beds and bathrooms come with walk-in showers (and sometimes baths as well), and the larger apartments have their own balconies.

There are facilities elsewhere in the building – a reception area downstairs, plus an honesty bar, gym and a courtyard for enjoying an early evening drink in summer. Outside, too,  you're well placed for seeing the rest of the city, and the building has parking for an extra charge. In short, The Chambers is an excellent choice, especially if you're staying that bit longer.
