North Bar
24 New Briggate, Leeds LS1 6NU
A cool beer bar that has no peer – we’re talking a changing roster of thousands of draft and bottled beers from all over the world, though always with something from close to home too. There might be a dozen ales on tap at any one time, and the food consists of Yorkshire-made pies, bread, meats, cheese and crisps. As for the music, the policy boils down to ‘if it’s good, it gets played’. Their other city-centre bar, the Cross Keys, is more pubby and traditional but still beer-tastic.
