Tucked away by the staithe in Stalham, the homespun charm of the Museum of the Broads evokes another era of museum curation. But it summarizes the uniqueness of The Broads very well, emphasizing both the nature of the landscape and its long-standing role as a holiday destination. There are some excellent and informative displays on tourism (including the foundation of Roys of Wroxham), bits and pieces to keep the children entertained, not to mention a good array of historic craft to look at, including an old wherry (whose cabin you can climb into), a commissioner’s launch and various reedlighters and other sailing vessels.
