YHA Perranporth is like no other UK hostel you've ever stayed at, looking like nothing so much as an Australian beachside shack, and with the expansive clifftop views and rolling surf to go with it. The views are magnificent, while inside, the hostel has two four-bedded rooms and four eight-bedded rooms, a self-catering kitchen, a big lounge and dining room and a garden that makes the most of the stunning views. You can also camp on the lawn outside and while you get to use the hostel's facilties, it's a pretty exposed location – and there's only room for one tent! The beach is what you come here for, and it's right there: if you want some organised activities, Koru Kayaking and Perranporth Surf School can take the strain, but we wouldn't blame you if you just walked down every morning and swum, sunbathed and messed about in the waves for the rest of the day – it's that beautiful. The Blue Reef Aquarium is less than a mile away for when the weather doesn't play ball, and families will enjoy other nearby attractions like Healeys Cyder Farm, Holywell Bay Fun Park and Trerice Gardens and House.

From the town centre take the B3285 south west, turn right into Tywarnhale Road, then left at sign. YHA Perranporth is beyond the locked gate on coastal footpath.There is no vehicular access, except for loading and unloading. If you're arriving on foot, follow the coastal path.
