Stirling Youth Hostel

If you're after a hostel city break with a difference, this 92-bed youth hostel is a perfect base for exploring the historic city of Stirling on a budget. Housed in a nice old grey stone building in the heart of Stirling's Old Town, it has the usual SYHA mixture of bright, decent-sized, multi-bedded rooms and private rooms with en-suite facilities, equipped with simple modern furniture - over 90 beds in all, spread across over 20 rooms. It's a very friendly place too, with lovely staff, comfortable communal areas, a kitchen for self-caterers and a dining room. It's also just a few minutes' walk from Stirling's magnificent castle and a couple of miles from the famous Wallace Monument and the high-tech Bannockburn Visitor Centre, so a great budget base for the area.
