Ox Pasture Hall Hotel

Ox Pasture Hall is an unpretentious take on the traditional country house hotel - a grand farmhouse, surrounded by barns and outbuildings, that has been transformed into a luxury hotel. It's independently owned and very well regarded, a perfect place to get away from it all, surrounded by 17 acres of grounds and with a relaxed atmosphere running through the place. There are 32 rooms in all, each individually designed and ranging from classic doubles up to four poster suites, all extremely comfortable and many with views out over the rolling moors to the west. All rooms come fully equipped with mod cons and swish bathrooms; there's no hint of rustic farmhouse where you wouldn't want it! The hotel is extremely dog-friendly and there's also big focus on romantic breaks for couples.

The main courtyard restaurant is focused on set menus with creative modern British dishes that feature ingredients from local North Yorkshire suppliers. The rustic bistro leans more towards gastro pub classics and family favourites. Afternoon teas are also on offer and if you fancy something a bit different, why not have a meal in one of the hotel's outdoor garden pods? Even in winter you can enjoy a cosy alfresco dining experience. Beyond the hotel, you're just a few miles from the busy seaside resort of Scarborough while other coastal towns including Whitby and Filey are not much further afield. In the other direction, the North Yorkshire Moors spreads out inland with its dramatic heather covered moors and scenic dales.
