Conveniently situated in Newcastle city centre, this elegant Georgian building is home to one of the city's best boutique hotels. Despite being a grade-II-listed building, it's a cool and contemporary property, with 49 en-suite rooms all provided with the most modern amenities while retaining a special character all of its own.
The hotel's guest rooms are spacious and comfortable, and retain the high ceilings and large windows of the period building. Each is individually decorated with a different colour palette and with a large black-and-white backdrop of the city behind the bed. Ranging from Standard to Deluxe and Junior Suites, but they all come with flatscreen TVs, good wifi, a desk and tea- and coffee-making facilities. The main difference between the categories is space – the Deluxe rooms are larger than the Standard rooms and have king-size beds, while the 5 suites are on two levels and come with their own mini-fridges, robes and slippers Bathrooms vary but they are all fairly recently refurbished and come with White Company toiletries.
The hotel has its own spa, offering all sorts of treatments, as well as Leila Lily's bar and restaurant, although you're also well placed for the best of central Newcastle's best places to eat and drink – and are also only a ten-minute walk from the train station.
